Slower, slower, slower

It takes centuries for a civilization to build a city. It takes minutes for a bomb to blow it up.

It takes decades for a tree to reach maturity. It takes hours for an axe to chop it down.

It takes years for a wound to heal completely. It takes seconds for a knife to cut it open.

Humanity tends to want to go faster, faster, faster. Yet...

where there is trust;
where there is order;
where there is beauty;

...it is because someone first took their time.

Life takes time. Death just takes.

In a world that strives to push the limits of faster, faster, faster, sometimes what our souls need most is to go slower, slower, slower.
